T minus 32 hours to Payton's arrival

We are down to the final countdown. My mom's flight arrives 1:00pm today. That gives her just enough time to get settled in. Elton and I have to check in at the hospital at 5:30am tomorrow morning to get ready for Payton's arrival. I am so excited to get her here. I will try to get a post out of her arrival as soon as I can.

Things Not To Put In Your Nose by Brea Curry Part 2

Two nights ago I noticed that Brea was rubbing her nose... I thought to myself "well that's odd" and asked Brea if I could look at her nose. I got the flashlight and tried to lay her on the floor to have a look-see and that was enough for her, she got up and ran as fast as she could to her room. I then went and got the nose sucky just to make sure that there was nothing in her nose. I pinned her down and did the nose sucky thing and it seemed that the nostril was clear. Late that same night I could hear that she was breathing kind of funny and again at nap time the next day. When Elton got home from work last night I told him about her nose and he attempted to have a peek... again Brea was not having it. At bedtime Brea had one runny nostril and again I thought that was super odd and again in the night she was breathing kind of funny and was restless in her sleep. So this morning I call the Pediatrician to see if we could get an appointment. We were in luck... We got to the doctors office and were called right back to the exam room... love it when happens... the nurse had to do Brea's vitals and one would think that we were killing her. The doctor came in a few minutes later... and at this point let me just add the the doctor is two weeks away from having her baby... so you have two pregnant people trying to hold down the strongest 2 year old I have ever seen just to get a peek in her nose. We decide that we need reinforcement and call back in the nurse to help. Now we have 2 pregnant ladies and a nurse trying to hold Brea down... still not working very well. The three of us take a moment to let Brea calm down and thought we might have to get Dr. Neil to come in and help. We tried one more time with just the three of us. Dr. Rachael holding Brea's head, nurse Lindsay basically laying over Brea's arms and torso... and I got the kicking feet.... turns out that yes in did there was something up her nose. What is it you ask..... cotton.... like stuffing from one of her stuffed animals... maybe... not 100% sure. So the lesson we learned today is:

1. Brea is super strong

2. Two 9 month pregnant women are basically worthless at almost everything

3. And as a mom you have to trust you first instinct

and

4. You just never know what you find in your two year olds nose

Family Update

With only 12 days until Payton arrives I thought I would at least give an update on our lives. I am as ready for Payton to arrive as I can get. All the baby clothes have been washed and cradle is up. The bottles and formula are ready and so are the diapers... now we just wait. We are having a planned c-section on 2/12 at 7:30am. I will try to get a post with all her info as soon as I can.

Elton has put in for a transfer to Phoenix. We should know if he gets it in a couple weeks. We are really hoping he get it.

Nolan is almost a third of the way through his freshman year. But other than that not much to report on him.

Brea is loving her terrible two's... Elton and I on the other hand are not loving it as much as she is.

Hayden is slowly starting to walk and loves to pester Brea.... Brea on the other hand is not liking it so much.

Kelson is back in Fort Collins with his father and is in the process of looking for a job. Hopefully he will find one soon.

So needless to say not a whole lot going on in our neck of the woods.

A Historic Day

History in the making happen on this day. Hayden took his first solo steps. We were standing in the kitchen and Hayden was in pulling on my pants as usual and then he just let go and took 3 steps toward Elton. Little Hyaden is amazing. I love his sense of adventure. He makes us laugh with the always funny things he does. He has also found his outside voice... thanks Brea... and love to use it. We sure love this little guy.

O Pregnancy

( You have to hum O Christmas Tree while reading in order for this to make any sense... this is what lack of sleep will do to a person)

O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
How I wish you were over;
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
How I wish you were over;
I’m so tired of not being able to sleep,
But also having swollen feet.
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
How I wish you were over;

O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Much pleasure thou are not giving me;
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Much pleasure thou are not giving me;
Will somebody please shoot me,
I’m so sick of having to continually pee!
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Much pleasure thou are not giving me;

O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Thy belly is so big and round!
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Thy belly is so big and round!
It’s like a giant mound,
My belly button can be hardly found.
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
Thy belly is so big and round!

O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
The last 28 days are killing me!
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
The last 28 days are killing me!
I just want to hold my new baby,
And love her unconditionally.
O Pregnancy! O Pregnancy!
The last 28 days are killing me!

A Very Special Brea Day

Two years ago this very day

Brea Cyan Curry came to stay

Precious and little with a personality all her own

It's amazing how fast the years have flown

With cupcakes and a song we celebrate her special day

Wishing she will stay little in very way

Although she can almost skate

She will always be her Daddy’s favorite date.

Happy 2nd Birthday Brea....

Over the last week or so Brea has discovered that many items fit in her little nostril. So here is a list of things that Brea has... but should not have put in her nose.

The chewed off foot of her brand new fairy Barbie

The magnetic end of her magna doddle pen

Her finger

Her baby dolls bottle nipple

Barbie's hand
